May Wrap Up

Hello friends!

Am I the only one that can’t believe its june already and is sad about it? It’s partially because that means im almost back to school which I’m not looking forward to xD anyways May was a great reading month for me and I’m excited to do a quick over view of it all.

ACOFAS- this was my first and most anticipated read for the month that sadly fell short. I ended up giving this 3.5 stars. Full Review can be found here: ACOFAS…or A Court Of Flop and Slump?

I also listened to Obsidio which was my second time through this book because I loved the series but didn’t have the time to wait for my audio credit so I read the book when it was first released. So clearly 5 stars these are amazing audio books!

I was also lucky for the fierce reads tour to be near me so I had to squeeze in Daughter of the pirate king which was such a cute, fun novel for me. I gave this novel 4.5 stars You can find my full Review of it here: Daughter of the Pirate King Review

I also listened to These broken stars and This shattered World on audio since I loved Illuminae so much and wanted to read more of their work. This series is just as good and ordered the paper backs for my collection. I gave the first two books 4.5 stars. Im currently listening to the final book in the series.

I than read daughter of the siren queen which I think I enjoyed more than the first one as it had a more interesting plot line than the first for my tastes. Id say it was more of a 4.7 star read!

Finally I caved for The Cruel Prince that everyone was raving about on my bookstagram especially after buying BN special edition that is seriously a beautiful naked cover. This book was a slow start for me but I was hooked by the end and can’t wait for Wicked King. I gave this book a 4.5 stars. You can find my full review here: The Cruel Prince Review

My next read which isn’t shown on the photo above was a ebook arc from net galley. Snow by Mikayla Elliot. Its a vampire novel that was quite interesting and unqiue definitely not a twilight vampire style thank the lord (sorry twilight fans the movies ruined this series for me) I ended up giving this a 4 stars. You can read my full review of it here: Snow by Mikayla Elliot Review

I also managed a reread of Caraval because it’s been awhile since I read the first and wanted to make sure I remembered everything before Legendarys release. I love this book and its a 5 star read for me.

My final read was definitely my favorite read of the month! Beyond a Darkened Shore. Its such an amazing celtic/norse mythological book that was just so fricking amazing I can’t say enough good things about this book plus look at that print that came with it thanks to Fairy Loot. Anyways this was a 5 star read and my review of it is here: Beyond a Darkened Shore Review

  1. Ooh you read so many awesome books! I loved Levenseller’s duology! The Cruel Prince is.. all the love! [I seriously own three copies of that book – no shame, no regret.] I remember liking Caraval, but I think it fell a bit short for me? I should reread my own darn review to be sure because I’ve read so many books since I can hardly remember.. I did preorder the sequel, so it can’t have been all that bad, haha.

    Happy reading! 🙂

    1. Me too it was such a cute duology! Shes super funny in person too, her next novel is supposed to be a bit darker. Cruel prince was good I only have the bn edition! Caraval wasnt amazing for me but I enjoyed it. I’m liking legendary better so far though

  2. I really enjoyed Daughter of the Pirate King. I love how in your review you said “if you are looking for intense adult pirate” this isn’t it. I think the appeal for me to read YA books is that they are heavy and intense as some adult novels can be. 🙂 Happy Reading.
